How To Trim Footage On Lumafusion

How To Trim Footage On Lumafusion

There are a couple of different ways you can trim footage. We’ll run through the different tools you can use so you can go with whichever method is the fastest and easiest for you. 

One way to trim is by dragging the little white arrow on the clip

Let’s start by removing any footage before you start speaking. To do this you can: 

• Drag the clip handles: Select the clip, then tap and hold the Arrow icon on the side of the clip. This allows you to drag the start point of the clip to wherever you want it to begin. When you let go, the video will now start at that point.
• Cut and delete the clip: Align the playhead at the point you want the clip to start and press the Scissors icon. You now have two clips. Select the first one with the bad footage and press Delete. 

If you’re using the Cut tool, make sure you align the playhead where you want the cut to occur

You can even use a combination of these tools to remove bad takes throughout the clip.

So now go through your footage and use those tools to remove any unnecessary footage throughout your project. Once you’re finished, you will be left with only the awesome footage that will be in your final video. 

You can Cut a clip anywhere that you want it to be trimmed 

PRO TIP: You can cut a clip by aligning the playhead where you want the cut to occur and tapping with two fingers on the blue bar. This is a shortcut that will really speed up the trimming process!

Once you’ve trimmed your footage, it’s time to add B-roll.
